Lifetick is an application designed to help users set and manage their personal and professional goals. The site allows users to register for themselves or to register as a coach in order to help others achieve their goals in life. Users of Lifetick are given a quick and easy way to enter goals, core values, and tasks, both recurring and one-time and track their completion and stay motivated via email reminders. Lifetick utilizes S.M.A.R.T. goal-setting methodology to ensure that users are making the best decisions for themselves going forward.
Developed by Merdian 86, Lifetick was formed by a partnership with complementary skills and desires. The goal of Lifetick is to help its users achieve goals that they otherwise lack the organizational skills to efficiently achieve on their own. For instance, users who are studying for a degree can set up study times linked with email reminders and due dates in order to motivate them and provide a constant reminder that there are tasks in their life still outstanding. Tasks and milestones can be created for exams.
Lifetick provides the means of organization that many people may lack in their daily lives. We all have goals and aspirations, but utilizing the S.M.A.R.T. methodology (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, Timely), Lifetick provides the means for users to organize their lives in meaningful and effective ways in order to maximize their chance of success with whatever goals they may set for themselves.
The Lifetick website makes heavy use of product screenshots and testimonials in order to inform new users as to what they have to offer. The website design itself is easy to navigate, responsive and very elegantly laid out. The color scheme is in the light blue range, giving it an appealing and tasteful appearance, as well as a highly professional feel. The application itself is really quite attractive, utilizing effective and intuitive controls and graphics, the user account page is clutter free, allowing the user to easily see what tasks they have outstanding and to easily add and edit existing tasks, goals, journal entries and core values.
In order to register for Lifetick, the user must click on the “Personal” tab at the top left of the website. Somewhat buried near the bottom of this page, the Pricing information can be seen. Simply select a plan and click “start now”. Users are prompted for first name, last name, email address and a password/confirmation field. After selecting a country, click “Create Account”. Users are then presented with the terms of service, click “Accept”. Doing so will send an email to the registered address. After clicking the activation link, simply click “login” and the account can be accessed.
Lifetick has both a free and a full version available on their website. The free version allows users to set 4 goals, gives them access to email reminders, an iPhone/Android web app, and iCalendar feed. The full version allows for unlimited goals, and gives the user all of the above with the addition of journal note and category entry, journal category reporting and graphing, as well as widgets for live stats. The full version costs a quite modest $20 per year, giving users significantly more than their money’s worth.
Lifetick is designed to help everyone achieve their personal and professional goals, from business professionals to students, retirees planning for dream vacations to stay-at-home parents wishing to add some organization to their hectic schedules, Lifetick offers them the organization and accountability that may be difficult to achieve on one’s own.
